Suntory Expanding
Nacchan product line
Suntory will add "grape" flavor to its Nacchan
soft drink product line starting on August 28.
The product will sell for 330, 140 and 100 yen,
respectively, in the 1.5L and 500ml plastic bottle,
and 250ml paper pack sizes.
The Nacchan
product line was originally launched in 1998, with
Nacchan "Orange," and has since become popular
with all age groups.

Suntory Launching
New PEPSI Campaign
Suntory is preparing to kick off a nationwide campaign
to promote PEPSI
and DIET PEPSI.
The campaign will be carried out in collaboration
with "A BATHING APE," a popular clothing brand
inspired by the new Hollywood film "Planet of the
Apes." Bathing Ape attire has caught on especially
among male teenagers, who are a primary target
of PEPSI marketing
campaigns in Japan.
Various Bathing Ape products, including parkas
and T-shirts, will be given away to the public
through an instant-win system starting in early-September.
The present campaign concludes in mid-October.
Following the campaign, Suntory will start marketing
a limited number of 500ml bottle-cans featuring
A BATHING APE's original camouflage design. A 500ml
bottle-can will retail for 140 yen.

Suntory expanding
BOSS Coffee line
Suntory will add BOSS HG
to its line-up of BOSS canned coffee products starting
on September 4. The product is being marketed to
young business people in a campaign designed to
appeal to one's sense of freedom and independence.
BOSS HG comes
in an elegant blue and silver can, which is designed
to reinforce such feelings.
At the same time, Suntory has also upgraded the
taste and packaging of its BOSS SEVEN and BOSS
CAFÉ AU LAIT canned coffees. All three products
will sell for 115 yen for a 190g can.
The company is also giving away specially designed
down jackets featuring the BOSS brand logo to 15,000
lucky winners. The promotional campaign will last
from Sept. 4 to Dec. 31.

Suntory to
launch seasonal low-malt beer for autumn - to
be sold exclusively in Hokkaido
On August 21, Suntory will begin marketing SUNTORY HOKKAIDO AKINAMA, a low-malt beer that is specially brewed for the autumn season in Hokkaido. The company created this product exclusively for sale in Hokkaido after conducting several consumer surveys to aid in developing a beer to match the taste of local Hokkaido food, which differs from that of the main island of Japan. A 350-ml regular size will retail for 145 yen, while the 500-ml long size will retail for 195 yen. The design of the beer's packaging is largely white, but includes colored maple leaves to match the splendor of autumn in Hokkaido.

launch seasonal low-malt beer for autumn
On August 21, Suntory will begin marketing AJIWAI AKI NAMA, a low-malt beer that is produced exclusively for the autumn season. The product will be on sale in all prefectures except Hokkaido. A 350-ml regular size will retail for 145 yen, while the 500-ml tall size will retail for 195 yen. The design of the drink's packaging features deep-orange colors and maple leaves, to match the look of autumn.

begin PARAISO PARADICE litchi liqueur
campaign
In mid-July, Suntory will begin a promotional campaign
for its PARAISO PARADICE litchi liqueur, targeting
young people.
During the campaign, the company will give 1,000
selected winners a set of an original-design carry-on
bag and travel bathrobe. The theme of the campaign
is "Paradise - Both Indoors and Outdoors."

Suntory to
expand sales of its OOLONG TEA 400-g bottle-can
On July 24, Suntory will begin to distribute its
OOLONG TEA 400-g
bottle-cans via nationwide channels, so as to expand
sales of the product.
Sales of Suntory's OOLONG
TEA have marked stable growth so far
this year, accelerated by the marketing of the
newly introduced 400-g bottle-cans, which were
tested in selected prefectures prior to the start
of sales generally. The expansion of sales areas
and sales channels is expected to further benefit
sales. A 400-g bottle-can will retail for 130 yen.

announce research results regarding xylooligosaccharides
Suntory's Institute for Health Care Science will announce the results of its results regarding the "intestinal effects of xylooligosaccharides as the bifidobacteria-proliferation factor" at the International Conference of Intestinal Bacteriology, which will be held on July 5-6 in Tokyo. The research results reveal how xylooligosaccharides nurture bifidobacteria and regulate the functions of the intestines.

Shaoxing rice wine KAIKEIZAN
Suntory will begin marketing KAIKEIZAN Shaoxing rice wine on July 10. The brand is produced by Tofu Shaoxing Rice Wine Manufacturing Ltd., a major Shaoxing rice wine manufacturer in China. The company has a 250-year history and its product have been honored with numerous gold medals at international contests. KAIKEIZAN is named after the mountains near the town of Shaoxing, the product's place of origin. A 640-ml bottle will retail for 690 yen.
