Suntory Holds Campaign Celebrating Completion of the Construction of Kyushu Kumamoto Plant


From March 4 to April 30 Suntory holds campaign titled "Good Forest, Good Water: Suntory Kyushu Kumamoto Plant at the Base of Aso Finally Opens" celebrating completion of the construction early this summer. With the campaign complimentary tickets for famous Japanese Inn, traveling vouchers or sets of beverage will be presented to feel the nature of Kumamoto.

Active Substance in Beer that Precipitates Motility of GI Tract Isolated


For the first time in history Suntory and University of Shizuoka together succeeded in isolating active substance in beer that precipitates motility of gastrointestinal tract. The result of the research will be presented at the 23rd Meeting of the Japanese Society for Biomedical Research on Alcohol (JASBRA) on February 28.

Suntory Rugby Football Club Starts Japanese Contract Player System


From April 1 Suntory Rugby Football Club adopts Japanese Contract Player System for further advancement of the club and development of Rugby world. For the first year Naoya Okubo and Daigo Yamashita will be the contract players to challenge the world. Suntory is aiming at contributing to the health of people's mind and body by sending dream and excitement through sports.

VITTEL Clear Bottle in Market


From the end of March Suntory starts marketing VITTEL, French mineral water, with Clear Bottle (transparent bottle) instead of with the current blue bottle. The change was made considering its impact on the environment. VITTEL PET bottle 1.5ltr/750ml/500ml/330ml(square type)/330ml(round type) retails at 230/160/130/105/115yen respectively.

Suntory Starts PEPSI Spring Campaign 2003 !


From March 25 Suntory energetically starts "PEPSI GET!! BECKHAM Campaign" and "PEPSI Meets Adidas: Sneaker Bottle Cap Campaign." With the BECKHAM Campaign winners will be either 1) invited to the Manchester United Soccer School also visiting its home stadium and England Premier League game 2) invited to soccer class held within Japan directed by coaching staff of Manchester United Soccer School or 3) granted Adidas training clothes, Adidas Beckham-model T-shirts or posters signed by Beckham. Increased DAIJUHYO Bottle Appears for Campaign Period


From March 18 Suntory starts marketing increased DAIJUHYO campaign bottle for a limited number. To celebrate 10th year of DAIJUHYO, well-selling Shochu whose ingredient is 100% grain leading to smooth taste, its 4ltr-bottle will become 4050ml-bottle. With 25% or 20% alcohol it retails at 2904yen or 2537 yen respectively.

Suntory Commences "Natural Water Forest" Project


At the end of the last year Suntory applied for "Hojin no Mori (corporation forest)" system organized by Forestry Agency and on February 19 the agreement was officially concluded with Kyuhsu Regional Forest Office. With this agreement Suntory actively starts a "Natural Water Forest" project that promotes conservation of water reserve and protection of green resource in the vast forest in Kumamoto prefecture. The land will be maintained as water forest, for bird watching and as people's amenities.

Suntory Starts "Chikutan Mildler Present Campaign"


From the beginning of April Suntory starts "Chikutan Mildler Present Campaign" with Suntory whisky ZEN 640ml bottle (1200yen). One bamboo-charcoal muddler, "Chikutan Mildler," that makes water and whisky milder is presented when you purchase the bottle.

Suntory Introduces Sumptuous Strawberry Liquor


From March 4 Suntory starts marketing TOTTEOKI KAJITSU NO OSAKE (liquor made from the finest fruit) Tochigi Prefecture's Tochiotome Strawberry Flavor for spring and summer season. Tochiotome is sweet strawberry that is especially popular to female customers. 250ml can retails at 194 yen.

Pineapple and Litchi Flavor Appears in FRUIT WINE SELECTION Line


From March 18 Suntory starts marketing FRUIT WINE SELECTION: Pineapple and Litchi in addition to existing five flavors of FRUIT WINE SELECTION line. The wine that uses puree of both popular delicious fruit and new fruit is fresh, juicy and fruity. It sold twice as more than the previous year last year. With tropical pineapple and elegantly sweet litchi this new flavor retails in 500ml bottle at 580 yen.

New Flavors Join TONG-TSU-FA Line


From March 4 Suntory starts introducing LI-LI-CHU (plum) and KEI-KA-CHIN-SHU (fragrant orange-colored olive) as new flavors of TONG-TSU-FA series. TONG-TSU-FA is the real Chinese liquor with tastefulness of its ingredients and mellowness of PAICHU, popular white wine, that Suntory jointly produced with Tongfu, the largest Shaoxing rice wine manufacture in China. LI-LI-CHU 500ml/1.8ltr bottle retails at 788/2033 yen. KEI-KA-CHIN-SHU 500ml bottle retails at 625 yen.

Suntory Starts Marketing MALT'S "Go for V2! Yomiuri Giants Supporters' Can"


From March 20 Suntory starts marketing MALT'S "Go for V2! Yomiuri Giants Supporters' Can" for a limited number with original package design officially approved by Yomiuri Giants. Along with it "Cheers! to Yomiuri Giants Campaign" will be held presenting Giants-game tickets to 100 pairs and YG embroidered T-shirts to 500 entrants. Entry can be made only with an entry postcard that comes with its 6-pack. Regular 350ml can retails at 218 yen and 6-pack retails at 1308 yen.

From March 4 Suntory starts marketing RIVER CREST, WILD VINES and SYCAMORE CANYON of the world's foremost California winery, E. & J. Gallo Winery, as agreed upon partnership last October. Advertisements as TV commercial start aiming to sell 1 million cases in total in its first year.

From March 18 Suntory starts marketing DIET NAMA small bottle (334ml, 150 yen) for business use. DIET NAMA is healthy low-malt beer that has 50% less calorie, 70% less sugar and 50% less purine bodies with smooth yet rich taste. Its sale has been rising among highly competitive low-malt beer market.

Elementary Schools Invited to Join Gardening Program


Suntroy invites elementary schools throughout Japan to take part in its 4th Kazenoko Gardening Program. The company will donate surfinia petunia seedlings to 100 participating schools, giving students an opportunity to experience gardening first hand and to communicate with friends and local people through gardening.

FINE BREW Bottle in Market


From March 25 Suntory starts marketing FINE BREW bottle (350ml, 160yen) for business use while from March 11 its 350ml 6-can pack (900yen) will be sold for domestic use. FINE BREW, non-alcoholic beer with refreshing taste, will be produced in Tonegawa Brewery in addition to its original Musashino Brewery to respond to its rapidly expanding demand.

"Rice Gift Certificate Present Campaign" Starts with KYOGETSU GREEN


From February 10 to April 30 Suntory holds "Rice Gift Certificate Present Campaign" with popular Korean Shochu, KYOGETSU GREEN to thank its fans. The product sold 30% more in 2002 than in the previous year. Entries can be made with special postcards attached to 4ltr (25%-alcohol 3100yen, 20% 2820yen), 2.7ltr (25% 2113yen, 20% 1920yen), 1.8ltr (25% 1409yen, 20% 1280yen) PET bottles and 3000 people win the gift certificates.
