Suntory Museum of Art Exhibits "Emile Gallé - The Centennial Anniversary of His Death"


From March 30 to May 16, 2004 Suntory Museum of Art exhibits "Emile Gallé - The Centennial Anniversary of His Death" that introduces mysterious glassware, potteries and furniture made by an Art Nouveau artist, Gallé (1846-1904). Decorative objects and posters of the time will also be shown for further understanding of Galle'L's art and France at the change of the century.

LAI-GURE Joins GURE-FURU Series


From January 27, 2004 Suntory starts marketing LAI-GURE as 7th flavor of GURE-FURU, PIN-GURE series that are new low-alcohol fruit liquor made by whole fruit fermentation. LAI-GURE is juicy grapefruit wine with litchi that has a hint of sweetness and elegant aroma. 350/500ml can retails at 148/200 yen.

White Peach Flavor Joins Suntory CHU-HI CALORI Line


From January 27, 2004 Suntory starts marketing popular White Peach flavor of fresh and fruity CALORI that is 50% less calorie and 80% less sugars than the same flavor of regular Suntory CHU-HI. Since its introduction in September 2003 CALORI has been accepted well among health-conscience consumers. 350/500ml can retails at 140/190 yen.

Healthy Green Tea, CATECHIN-SHIKI Debut


From January 20, 2004 Suntory starts marketing CATECHIN-SHIKI, totally new green tea that contains 300mg of catechin and 100mg of amino acid. Catechin is a kind of tannin found in green tea and is effective on health. The drink has the best balance of its bitterness and the taste of amino acid. 500ml/2lit. PET bottle retails at 140/330 yen.

SUNTORY QUARTERLY 74th Issue Features "Holy Liquor at Holy Time"


The 74th issue of SUNTORY QUARTERLY (500 yen including tax) is now available at selected bookstores throughout Tokyo, Kanagawa, Osaka and Fukuoka district. This issue features liquor as a part of today's "holy time" as time to search within self or time when one feels power that surpasses oneself.

Major League Baseball Player, Hideki Matsui, Advertises SUPER MAGNUM DRY


From the middle of February 2004 a New York Yankees' baseball player, Hideki Matsui, appears in Suntory SUPER MAGNUM DRY TV commercial. Hideki has been playing in US Major League from 2003 and is a widely popular national hero in Japan. Suntory considered his challenging spirit, dynamic baseball and lovable character were the best characteristics to appeal the solid dry taste of the popular low-malt beer, SUPER MAGNUM DRY (350ml, 140yen).

Suntory to Acquire Bio-Venture Company, Florigene Ltd.


On December 2 Nufarm Ltd., Australian company specialized in agricultural science, agreed on Suntory to acquire its bio-venture company, Florigene Ltd. With this acquisition Suntory is planning to further develop new plants biotechnologically and expand its flower business in world market. Suntory has also acquired distributorship of a popular blue carnation, MOON DUST, series that Suntory and Florigene together developed in 1995.
