First Series of Suntory Cocktail Revolution
New Release: 5 Types of New “Cocktail Bar”
— Suggest cocktail's new appeal with loyal taste and novel design —
Suntory Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Nobutada Saji) is to release 5 types of new “Cocktail Bar” (cassis orange, salty dog, mango peach, screwdriver, lychee grapefruit) from 22 June 2004 nationwide across Japan.
Suntory will have proactive marketing activities this year by multilaterally evolving new cocktail products, which meet diversified customers’ values. Positioning this as “Cocktail Revolution”, Suntory will create the new world for “cocktail”.
The new “Cocktail Bar” is to be released as the first series of “Cocktail Revolution”. It is delivered to customers in its packaging of novel design, as fruit cocktail which is produced by a loyal formula. While emphasizing the fashionable and intrinsic appeal of cocktail, Suntory tries to expand fan base by the new volume of 280ml and price of 150 Yen.
Moreover, Suntory will evolve a new spread of “Cocktail Bar” brand, so that to arouse demands for cocktail.
• Feature of content
It balances to realize satisfactory “rich taste of fruits” and a “quaffable” quality of the tinned cocktail. It is the loyal fruit cocktail with fruit taste and added richness, using the total of 4 types of fruit juice and fruit liqueur for each item.
• Packaging details
It is a novel packaging design by Hironobu Tsuchiya, a graphic designer. Diagonal stripes express the mixed look of the cocktail, while the coloring expresses the used fruits raw material. The product’s high quality is made appealing by using a symbol mark of “Cocktail Bar” on top of the can.
• Feature of each item
“Cocktail Bar <cassis orange>”
Several different orange juices, mainly of Valencia oranges, are mixed with cassis liqueur of base. The daintily rich taste is produced with orange and grapefruit liqueurs as accents.
“Cocktail Bar <salty dog>”
Grapefruit juice is mixed with grapefruit liqueur. The fresh taste is produced with orange and lemon liqueurs as accents.
“Cocktail Bar <mango peach>”
Peach juice of sweet and soft taste are mixed with mango liqueur of base. The fruity taste is produced with peach and orange liqueurs as accents.
“Cocktail Bar <screwdriver>”
Navel orange juice, mainly of Valencia orange, is added to produce the rich taste with orange and apricot liqueurs as accents.
“Cocktail Bar <lychee grapefruit>”
Grapefruit juice is mixed with lychee liqueur of base. The balanced taste with acidity and sweetness is produced with grapefruit and lemon liqueurs as accents.
• Advertcracy
Suntory will strongly make new “Cocktail Bar” appealing by going on air for TV commercial messages (CM), costarring up-and-comer actor of this year, Yosuke Kubozuka, and Masatoshi Nagase who appeared on air for 6 years since the release in 1993. Also, Suntory will develop transit advertisement to strongly appeal for “stripes” which are the products’ feature, at terminal stations mainly in Tokyo and Osaka where young people gather around.
