Suntory Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Nobutada Saji) is to release new alcoholic beverage “SUPER BLUE” (125 yen/ 350ml per can, 175 yen/ 500ml per can) from 22 June 2004 nationwide across Japan.

Suntory consistently conducts research and development, so that customers can enjoy high-quality products at reasonable prices. “BAKUFŪ” is produced by adding the “sharpness of malt distilled spirit” to “malt 100% beer” taste. Since its release on 9 March 2004, “BAKUFŪ” has been well received by customers. To further respond to customers' preferences and expectations for price, Suntory is to release new alcoholic beverage called “SUPER BLUE”.

“SUPER BLUE” tastes “refreshing”, and is produced by using low-malt beer as basic liquor and further adding the sharpness of “malt distilled spirit”. To express the exhilarating feel that penetrates into the blue sky, “SUPER BLUE” was used for the product's name. Suntory tries to have wider support of customers for “SUPERBLUE”, by setting a reasonable price of 125 yen/350ml per can. The product is categorized as “liqueur type” according to the Liquor Tax Law.

• Feature of content

Refreshing taste with less bitterness is realized by using original low-malt beer as basic liquor which was brewed for “SUPER BLUE”. Moreover, the sharp after-taste stands out by adding an optimum quantity of “malt distilled spirits” during a manufacturing process.

• Packaging details

The “quaffable” taste is expressed by using the basic color of white. Blue and silver lines, as well as the product's blue logo which is largely placed in the middle of the can, convey the product's “refreshing feel”. Decorating the bottom part with a metallic blue bar and the product's name, the packaging is designed to outstand at sales outlets.

• Advertcracy

Injecting TV Commercial Messages to strongly make refreshing “SUPER BLUE” appealing, active advertcracy activities are unfolded to widely announce the product's release.
