Brand Which Represents Spanish Wine New Release: 50th anniversary label for “Sangre de Toro” from Torres

Suntory Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Nobutada Saji) is to release a special label for “Sangre de Toro (Red/ White)” from Miguel Torres Winery, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the product. The label will be released from end of May 2004, nationwide across Japan.

Miguel Torres Winery is a famous winery around the world, which owns vineyards in Penedès in the suburbs of Barcelona in the Mediterranean since the 17th century. “Sangre de Toro” is featured for its balanced taste and a bull mascot which is hooked on the bottle. Since its release in 1954, it has been regularly drunk by customers around the world as a key brand. Spending his life time for wine, Miguel A. Torres, a current president of Torres, developed a strong passion for the brand of “Sangre de Toro”. His passion is like a bullfight that symbolizes Spain, just as the brand name of “Sangre” refers to blood, and “Toro” refers to a bullfight.

• Packaging details

It is a special design, decorated with words for the 50th anniversary on the label and seal cap. A bull mascot is hooked on the bottle, symbolically representing Spain.

• Feature of content

[Red] It is a red wine in the deep ruby color, with the feel of strong and matured grapes, and rich fruity aroma.

[White] It is a white wine in the pale straw color, featured for its elegant and fruity aroma which is characteristic of Parelada.
