Suntory Launches “Kid's Dream Project”, Experience-based Programs for Children
- Encourage children to reach for their “dreams” and to have “passion for challenge” -
Suntory Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Nobutada Saji) launches various experience- based programs for children, called “Kid's Dream Project“.
The newly launched “Kid's Dream Project” provides children with opportunities to have contact with topnotch people active in various fields including sports, music, arts, environmental affairs, and to experience other activities at first hand. By doing so, Suntory wishes to encourage children who take on the next generation to reach for their “dreams” and to have “passion for challenge”.
Suntory has been involved in numerous sociocultural activities for some time, such as sports support activities, nature preservation activities including the bird fancier's campaign, and ownership of museum, music foundation and concert hall. As part of these activities, Suntory has done a wide range of events and seminars as programs targeted for children. These include “Junior Lessons” at golf tournaments, “Children's Regular Concerts” at Suntory Hall, and “Natural Mineral Water Tours for Parents and Children” at Hakushu Natural Mineral Water Plant.
Suntory will continue these sociocultural activities in the future. To further expand the field of such activities, it will provide opportunities for children to contact leading persons of every sector of society such as Kenichi Horie (marine adventurer), Yuichiro Miura (professional skier), Ai Miyasato and Miho Koga (professional golfers). It will also offer children opportunities to directly experience first-class music and arts, as well as the natural environment, with a hope of opening up their future possibilities.
Prior to the “Kid's Dream Project”, Suntory has been co-hosting “Suntory / J. LEAGUE Sports Clinic” with J. LEAGUE since last year. This year, Suntory has held “Keizou Saji, Junior Program Sheet” at Suntory Hall, “Workshops for Children” at Suntory Museum of Art, “School of Forest and Water” at “Forest of Natural Mineral Water” of Suntory, and baseball classes at “Kid's Baseball Academy”, taught by “TEAM G-SPIRIT” and led by Tatsunori Hara. These activities have been received well.
Along with the launch of “Kid's Dream Project”, Suntory has set up an exclusive website, called “Kodomo Suntory”, on its homepage (http://suntory.jp/KIDS/ only in Japanese). Within this site, a new website called “Desktop Museum” will be set up, introducing events' information and stories about beverages using movies and illustrations. This will enable children to understand the information on the site easily and enjoyably.
