Suntory to Release California Organic Wine, “Fetzer <Organic>”

Suntory Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Nobutada Saji) is to release three types of wines that are 100 % organically grown by the prestigious Californian winery, “Fetzer”, as “Fetzer <Organic>” Series from September 14, 2004 throughout Japan. Suntory is also to release “Fetzer <Bonterra> Merlot” from “Fetzer <Bonterra>” Series that are 100% organically grown in the Fetzer's Bonterra Vineyard.

Fetzer, located in the North Coast of California, is one of the oldest wineries in California which produce wines from organically grown grapes. Its vineyard of around 800 hectares is certified as the land for organic growing by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). The vineyard is managed without using any kind of agricultural chemicals such as pesticide, herbicide, and chemical fertilizer.

Having started to sell wines from Fetzer in September 1997, Suntory is to release “Fetzer ” as the new series.
