Suntory Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Nobutada Saji) is to release 4 types of Californian wine, “Redwood Creek”, from E&J Gallo Winery from September 28, 2004, throughout Japan. “Redwood Creek” is a wine that suggests a new world-view, based on the concepts of “slow & luxurious life” and “relaxation and peace” in the Californian style. Since its release in 2001, those concepts have been well received among many customers in the U.S. Together with a fruity taste of its grape cultivar, sales volume of “Redwood Creek” rapidly increased in the U.S. market. It was also selected for the 1st rank of “Hot Brands*” among other American wines in 2003. E&J Gallo Winery is a distinguished winery with history. It is located in Modesto City, California, the U.S. which is well known for wineries. E&J is the only winery in the U.S. which had won the award of “Premio Gran Vinltaly” three times (in 1998, 2001 and 2002) at the prestigious wine competition in Italy called “VINITALY”, for the first time in history.
