Suntory is to release Austrian highest quality wine “F.X. Pichler”
Suntory Ltd. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Nobutada Saji) is to release eight types of the Austrian highest quality wine “F.X. Pichler” from 28 September 2004 throughout Japan.
F.X. Pichler is a family-owned company, which started making wine since around 1900 at Wachau area, Niederosterreich, Austria. The company owns 11 hectares of vineyards in Wachau, the worldly known ground for white wine, and produces 100 thousand bottles of white wine a year. Mainly using such Austrian varietals as Gruner Veltliner and Riesling, the family starts harvesting from late October to November, which is the latest season for this area. Complete fermentation of their high brix grapes results in powerful dry white wine.
“F.X. Pichler” is widely recognized as a premium brand among wine lovers around the world, so that the purchase orders come to get closed even prior to bottling every year.
