Suntory sets up “Products Development Center” to integrate the multiple functions through “communication & collaboration”
“Products Development Center (PDC)” exterior
Suntory Ltd. is to establish and complete “Products Development Center (PDC)” in Nakahara Ward, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Pref., to integrate its food and liquor product development functions on Tuesday 7 September.
“PDC” has been set up with a key concept of “communication and collaboration” to concentrate a broad spectrum of technologies both within and outside the company as a focal point for the food and liquor product development.
Suntory's R&D team strives to create “highly value-added products,” assuring safety and quality to the customers. In an effort to strengthen the R&D activities, “PDC” is established in Kawasaki closer to the Tokyo metropolitan market for the product development purpose, while the existing Research Center and Technology Development Center in Mishima, Osaka Pref., will continue to be a ground for the basic research and technology development.
“PDC” is strategically located closer to the large consumption area as well as the company's Tokyo branch with its marketing-related departments, and Suntory aims to achieve the followings:

| (2) | Strengthening inter-departmental collaboration among product development, marketing and others, to accelerate the process. |
| (3) | Developing creative products to reflect Suntory's competitive synergy among liquor, food, health products, and others. |
Suntory places the establishment of PDC as its commitment to synthetic creation, and continues to pursue “fresh” and “inspiring” product development with “surprise” for the customers.
