Suntory to Give Away “Moderation Calendar 2005” Appealing for Moderate Drinking
- Commemorating 100th piece of “moderation ads” to raise public awareness on temperate drinking since 1986 -
Suntory Ltd. is to launch “Moderation Calendar 2005” giveaway campaign from Monday 6 December, in commemoration of the 100th piece of newspaper advertisement promoting moderate drinking.
As a liquor maker, Suntory has been taking a leading role in addressing alcohol-related social issues based on a corporate philosophy “to promote moderate drinking in order to contribute to healthier and more cultivated life by understanding the nature of alcohol drink and striving to prevent the related issues.” The first “moderation ad” to raise awareness on moderate drinking was released in 1986, and subsequently the Alcohol-Related Problems or ARP Committee was internally formed in 1991. The activities both within and outside the company include cooperation to “Say no! to ‘Bottoms-Up’ campaign” as well as information release through ‘moderation’ leaflets and website.
Suntory will distribute 5,000 copies of “Moderation Calendar 2005” featuring 6 pieces of the outstanding previous works, in commemoration of the 100th moderation ad to be released on Sunday, 5 December.
