Suntory Introduces Honkaku-Shochu to U.S. Market
- Yaemaru Barley Shochu, Kuromaru Sweet Potato Shochu, and Kaguranomai Buckwheat Shochu -

Suntory Limited announces the U.S. launch of three different types of artisan-style honkaku shochu. Yaemaru Mugi (barley) shochu, Kuromaru Imo (sweet potato) shochu, and Kaguranomai Soba (buckwheat) shochu - three brands that already enjoy a strong following among shochu drinkers in Japan - will be made available in the U.S. toward the end of September 2005.

Focusing on Japanese restaurants and bars in the U.S., this Suntory marketing campaign is designed to attract new converts to the world of shochu. As more Americans become familiar with the great tastes and aromas of the traditional Japanese spirits, the shochu market in the U.S. is poised to expand.
