from a select few malt whiskies aged more than 35 years -

Suntory Limited is proud to announce YAMAZAKI 35 YEARS, vatted from Suntory's richly varied store of unblended single malt whiskies. Selected with utmost care from whiskies aged 35 years and older, a limited offering of 200 bottles will be available for 500,000 yen each, not including tax.

Suntory single malt whisky from the Yamazaki distillery has established a solid reputation for excellence and has been distinguished with awards at international competitions. YAMAZAKI 18 YEARS and YAMAZAKI 25 YEARS in particular have become popular brands appreciated by whisky aficionados for the deep richness imparted by long-term aging. These vintages are both currently selling at double the volume of last year.

YAMAZAKI 35 YEARS is blended from malt whiskies produced at the Yamazaki Distillery between 1966 and 1970. It represents the finest of mature single malt whiskies available as of this year. Among unblended malt whiskies matured over many years, those stored over 35 years present a formidable challenge to distilleries seeking to retain peak flavor during the aging process, which makes this offering exceptionally rare and desirable.

• Taste
Heavily fragrant and quite rich, but elegant and smooth in body. Aloeswood emerges first as the top note, followed by an enveloping aroma reminiscent of ripe fruit and grain. In the mouth, its sweet woodiness lingers pleasantly.

• Design
This whisky is sold in a clear bottle, true to its Yamazaki heritage. Traditional handcrafted Echizen paper is used for the label, designed especially for YAMAZAKI 35 YEARS. Each bottle is packaged in a special box of white oak, the same wood as the casks the whisky is aged in.
