Suntory Promotes Employee Forest Conservation
Programs, Including "Forest of Natural Water" Project
— Participation Doubled from Last Year —

Suntory Limited, working with national and local organizations, is again implementing its employee-based forest conservation program this fall. Suntory promotes the program as part of its corporate "Forest of Natural Water" project.

In this project, started in 2003, Suntory works with organizations on the national and local levels to develop forests that provide excellent sources of fresh water, to protect ecosystems, and to offer reforestation opportunities that bring people into contact with the natural environment.

This marks the fourth year of activities, and a total of nine employee-based forest conservation programs will have been held by the end of this year. In all, participation in 2006 will be twice that seen last year. An estimated 500 people* will take part in forest conservation this year.

To keep Suntory business activities in line with local communities while fostering the sustainable renewal of natural resources, the company is committed to upholding the corporate philosophy "Resonating with People and Nature" and the corporate slogan "Water for Life, Suntory." Suntory is involved in efforts to resolve local environmental problems in many ways, including water issues.
