Suntory Hall and Wiener Musikverein Agree on Partnership

Suntory Hall (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Director: Nobutada Saji) and the Wiener Musikverein (Vienna, Austria, Governor: Dr. Thomas Angyan) have agreed to a mutually cooperative partnership for the purpose of developing the music cultures of Japan and Austria.

This year, in celebration of its 20th anniversary, Suntory Hall has adopted the slogan “Reaching out to the world with 20 years of dreams!” in an effort to become The World's Suntory Hall. As part of this effort, it began an international exchange educational program with America's Carnegie Hall in September.

The recent partnership with the Wiener Musikverein is the result of both parties agreeing to exchange programs and ideas and mutually promote classical music in the hope that these activities will contribute to the development of the music cultures of both nations.

The partnership between Suntory Hall and the Wiener Musikverein, which enjoys a close relationship with the Wiener Philharmoniker Orchestra, is part of a plan to enhance and put into action Suntory Hall's philosophy of providing the world with even more creative and high-quality music in the future.
