Suntory Beverage Products Kanagawa Ayase Factory Completed
An environmentally friendly urban plant

Suntory Beverage Products Limited, a subsidiary of Suntory Limited and headquartered in Kanagawa Prefecture, completed construction of its Suntory Beverage Products Kanagawa Ayase Factory on Thursday, April 19. The plant began full-scale operation the same day.

Acting as a manufacturing base in the Tokyo metropolitan region for Suntory’s growing food products business, the new plant will produce Suntory-brand soft drinks such as IEMON and oolong tea. The food products business is the mainstay of the Suntory Group’s operations and continues to grow, recording sales exceeding 760 billion yen in the latest fiscal year.

The latest technology and facilities have been used to establish a system for producing high-quality products with maximum efficiency. The plant will handle all aspects of production, including PET container molding, contents manufacturing, filling and packaging, equipment maintenance, quality control and production management.

Suntory has taken a variety of initiatives to ensure that this urban plant is kind to the environment. In addition to recycling water and using heat efficiently, a number of renewable energy sources are being actively employed, including wind, solar and micro-hydroelectric power.
