Height : 32.5
Late 16th century, Venice

This elegant blue goblet is assumed to have been made in Barcelona or Florence. The shape is in traditional Venetian style. A diamond-point engraved arabesque motif covers the surface of the blue transparent glass. Molten pieces of hemispherical glass are fused onto the goblet sides, and gold applied. Four horizontal strips of blue decorate the cover and goblet. A hollow knop forms part of the stem.
