The Small Hall was renovated in 2007 and renamed the Blue Rose.* The stage was widened and the room is now equipped with video and audio controlling facilities to meet the requirements of all types of concerts. Like the Main Hall, wood is lavishly used to create an opulent atmosphere rich in resonance. All seats are removable. The stage consists of seven trap sections, each capable of being raised by a maximum 60 centimeters in 20-centimeter increments. This small hall puts the audience very close to the performers, making it possible to create innovative ideas for new types of concert performances. The hall is also available for lectures.
* The term Blue Rose is meant to symbolize something which was thought to be impossible until 2004 when Suntory Limited successfully developed a blue rose using biotechnology. The Small Hall was renamed the Blue Rose in the hope that artists who perform there will endeavor to offer new and creative works. |
