Yamazaki Whiskey Museum Tasting counter

Sample such Suntory whiskies as Yamazaki and Hakushu as well as the world’s five great whiskies and other single malt whiskies (a fee will apply). The tasting counter also offers key component malts that are only available at the distillery and special whiskies not available for sale, so why not commemorate your visit by discovering a new favourite?

  • *During the guided tour, you will walk through areas of the distillery that are being used in the actual whisky manufacturing process. To ensure your safety, we ask that you wait to visit the tasting counter until your tour is complete.
  • Open daily except New Year and during plant shutdowns
  • Hours: 10:00 am to 4:45 pm (last orders at 4:30 pm)
  • Not all plant shutdowns are scheduled in advance. Please contact the distillery for more information.

    Sweet vanilla and fruity notes derived from white oak casks are complemented with the subtle aroma of sherry casks and Japanese oak (Mizunara) casks . Many layers of flavours continue to rush so that it never tires of drinking.

    Distinguished by the sweetness of dried fruits and aromatic chocolate derived from sherry casks intermingled with a profoundly mature, complex flavour that comes from 18 years.

    Whiffs of sweet sherry notes. A great aromatic complexity of sweet and bitter flavours brought out by ultra-long aging. A long, pleasurable aftertaste. An enchantingly deep, long finish.

‘Yamazaki 12 Years old single malt whisky’ Key component malts(Sherry)50%alc.
Aged 12 years in sherry casks, this key malt is distinguished by its gorgeously, fruity aroma, sweet flavour, and bitter aftertaste.
‘Yamazaki 12 Years old single malt whisky’ Key component malts(White oak)50%alc.
Aged for 12 years in white oak puncheon casks, this key malt features a stout flavour with just a hint of sweetness.
‘Yamazaki 12 Years old single malt whisky’ Key component malts(Japanese oak <Mizunara>)50%alc.
Sweet, faint fragrances of this key malt evoke aromatic trees. While this is one of the components of Yamazaki 12 Years Old single malt whisky, it is usually used from a malt aged in the cask for roughly 20 years.
‘Hakushu 12 Years old single malt whisky’ Key component malts(Smoky)50%alc.
Smoky malt which gives a sense of cleanness and refreshment is one of the components of Hakushu 12 Years Old single malt whisky.

Rich and mellow with a bold sweet-and-sour flavour that fills the entire mouth.
