Suntory Limited is pleased to announce recent renovations at the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, where eight new pot stills are now operational.
These renovations will enable the distilleries to produce an array of unblended malt whiskies for years to come, and are intended to raise the already high caliber of Suntory whiskies even further. The eight new stills bring the total to nineteen, ample means for producing a complete pallet of unblended malt whiskies that is rare even on a global scale.
Pot stills, fermentation tanks, and other equipment were last updated in 1989 at the Yamazaki Distillery in far-reaching renovations. As a result of those renovations, Suntory was able to improve its unblended malt whisky even further, and after more than a decade, it is still winning high acclaim at international competitions.
