On Nov 7, Suntory Limited will release a limited number of bottles of its Tomi Red 2003 and Tomi White 2004, both made only with grapes grown in the Tomi-no-oka Winery vineyards.
In addition, on Tuesday, October 3, Suntory began selling two types of its Tomi-no-uta wine, made by the winery with 100% domestically grown grapes.
The Suntory Tomi-no-oka Winery has vineyards on the utopian Tomi hills, an area known even within the grape-growing region of Yamanashi Prefecture as being particularly fine. It is in this location that Tomi-no-oka Winery makes the wine by hand, beginning the process by plowing the soil, and then moving on to cultivating the grapes, fermenting the wine, aging it and then bottling it.
The addition of this new lineup enhances the Tomi-no-oka brand and adds to the appeal of Japan's unique winemaking.

Suntory aims to make Tomi the most revered top-class Japanese wine in the world. It is a specially produced red wine that is only made during the best vintage years. In 2003, the Tomi Red 1997 special reserve wine became the first Japanese wine to win the Gold Award at the Les Citadelles du Vin, an international wine and spirits competition held in Bordeaux, France.
Both the red and white wines are made only with grapes grown at the Tomi-no-oka vineyards, and only the best are chosen for the limited productions of this pinnacle of Japanese wine.

Tomi-no-uta is a superb blend of traditional Japanese wine grapes (Koshu, Muscat Bailey A) and European wine grapes.
As a leading winemaker, and with three domestic wineries-Tomi-no-oka Winery, Shiojiri Winery and Iwanohara Vineyard Co., Ltd.-Suntory produces high-quality wines by taking advantage of the unique climates and soils found in each winery, and utilizing the most advanced technology. Suntory will continue to its mission to create ever better wines.
