Suntory Whisky HIBIKI 30 YEARS Wins Trophy Highest honor at International Spirits Challenge 2006 Second win since 2004

On Wednesday, September 27, Suntory Whisky HIBIKI 30 YEARS was awarded the coveted Trophy, the highest honor at Britain's International Spirits Challenge 2006 at the awards ceremony for the 11th annual competition at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

In 2004, at the 9th annual ISC, Suntory became the first Japanese distillery to be awarded the Trophy, with this latest win becoming our second. The high quality of our pure whisky and our unsurpassed blending technique has garnered Suntory worldwide recognition, a fact of which we are deeply aware.

In awarding the Trophy, head judge Ian Gleave said, "HIBIKI 30 YEARS is worthy of respect, even when compared to other aged whiskies. It has an extremely complex flavor and a lingering aftertaste that is enjoyable."

In addition to this honor, Suntory Whiskies HIBIKI 30 YEARS, HIBIKI 21 YEARS, and HAKUSHU 18 YEARS have each already received the Gold Medal.
