Suntory Limited was awarded a gold medal for Suntory Shiojiri Winery Shiojiri Shinshu Chardonnay 2005 at the 5th Japan Wine Competition in July 2007 in Yamanashi Prefecture.

The Japan Wine Competition, held since 2003, evaluates wine produced exclusively from Japanese grapes, encouraging advances in quality and raising awareness about Japanese wine while enhancing the image, character, and prestige of each region of wine production. This year's event attracted 575 entries, of which 10 were distinguished with gold medals.

Characteristics of Shiojiri Shinshu Chardonnay 2005
