THE YAMAZAKI SINGLE MALT WHISKY AGED 50 YEARS (2007 Release) Now Available from Suntory Aged over 50 years at the Yamazaki Distillery in Mizunara casks

Suntory Limited proudly announces YAMAZAKI 50 YEARS, vatted from Suntory unblended single malt whiskies. A limited offering of 50 bottles will be available, carefully selected from whiskies aged at least 50 years.

Such an offering made from unblended malt whiskies aged more than half a century is rare even on a worldwide scale. When a similar vintage became available in 2005, the entire lot was sold out by the day after its release.

Brewing Highlights

The unblended malt whiskies were originally malted by the Yamazaki Distillery from Japanese barley malt more than 50 years ago. The clear, clean water of Yamazaki was added, fermented, and then distilled in the first pot stills in Japan. This offering is the culmination of more than half a century of gentle barrel aging.

Taste

A fragrance reminiscent of aloeswood emerges first, a characteristic of unblended malt whiskies of this age from Mizunara (Japanese white oak) casks. Deeply brilliant amber tinged with red, it is a whisky with a finish to savor as ripe, dried fruit emerges as the lingering aroma.

Packaging

Carefully handcrafted, each exquisite crystal bottle features the YAMAZAKI name etched in flowing cursive letters. Sold in a specially crafted oak box.
