The cepage (single variety) sparkling wine Madonna Sekt Riesling, made by the more than 200-year-old German company Valckenberg to celebrate the centennial of the "Madonna" brand, went on sale in Japan on Tuesday, September 16, distributed by Suntory.
"Madonna," known and loved by wine connoisseurs throughout the world, is a German wine, the precursor of "Liebfraumilch" ("Our Lady's Milk). It has been 100 years since 1908, when Valckenberg named its wine "Madonna," after the Church of Our Lady. In commemoration of the centennial of the Madonna brand of wines, Valckenberg has put a 100% pure Riesling sparkling wine on the market.
Connoisseurs can enjoy this wine's full-bodied fragrance, sophisticated sweetness, and rich and fruity flavor. This sparkling wine also has the splendid bouquet and lively acidity that are characteristic of Rieslings, as well as an elegantly crisp flavor.
