On September 30, Suntory Whisky HIBIKI 30 YEARS won the Trophy, the highest honor in the Whiskies of the World Division at the 13th International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2008, held in London, England.
HIBIKI 30 YEARS became the first Japanese beverage to win the ISC Trophy in 2004, and it received the Trophy again in 2006 and 2007. This year's win means that this whisky has won the top prize three years in a row and four times in five years, a feat never before accomplished in the history of the ISC. We find it extremely significant that, when evaluated with whiskies from all over the world, Suntory's whisky received high marks for the superior quality of its pure whiskies and its superb blending techniques.
On the occasion of the award, ISC representative Andrew Reed commended Suntory. "By winning four times, including three consecutive years, HIBIKI 30 YEARS has achieved an incredible feat."
We carefully scrutinize and select our grains and malts for extremely long aging-at least 30 years. Carefully blended and aged, HIBIKI 30 YEARS is the pinnacle of Suntory whiskies.
