Starting in late September, Suntory Beverage & Food Limited will make a new effort in Southeast Asia by developing Suntory green tea brand Mirai—a brand the company has grown in Thailand—across Indonesia through PT Suntory Garuda Beverage (president: Hartono Atmadja; based in Jakarta, Indonesia; hereinafter "Suntory Garuda Beverage").
Suntory has been selling the Mirai brand of green tea since July 2011 in Thailand through Tipco F&B Co., Ltd. (based in Thailand; president: Ekaphol Pongstabhon; 50% owned by Suntory Beverage & Food Limited).
Taking note of the growing tea drink market in Indonesia, where health consciousness is increasing, Suntory Beverage & Food Limited will release the first Suntory brand sold in Indonesia. Mirai, modified with unique flavors to suit Indonesians' preferences, comes in three varieties in Indonesia: Original, with a fresh sweetness while retaining an authentic green tea flavor; Honey, featuring a sweet honey aroma; and Sakura, featuring a florid cherry blossom aroma. Each will be sold in 330 ml and 500 ml plastic bottles.
While actively working to grow the Suntory brand in Indonesia, Suntory Beverage & Food Limited will further accelerate our global strategy for the entire Suntory Group by seeking to maximize synergy between group companies in Japan, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
