Summary

We have four research grant programs aimed at contributing to the advancement of scholarship and culture in Japan and around the world.

Applications are accepted from people of all nationalities, institutions, and places of residence, but application information and forms are provided only in Japanese and applications must be submitted in Japanese.

Grant for Collaborative Research in Humanities and Social Sciences
This grant is aimed at promoting groundbreaking group-based research projects that take a fresh look at conventional humanities and social sciences.

Grant for Groundbreaking Young Researchers
This grant is aimed at supporting young researchers who aspire to redefine the boundaries of scholarship in the fields of humanities and social sciences.

Torii Fellowship
This grant is aimed at identifying, nurturing, and supporting promising young Japanese researchers in the fields of humanities and social sciences. (residents of japan only)

Suntory Fellowship
This grant is aimed at identifying, nurturing, and supporting promising young non-Japanese researchers in the fields of humanities and social sciences, and contributing to greater academic exchanges and mutual understanding between Japan and the rest of the world. (residents of japan only)
