Attention to Universal Design

- We developed Universal Design packaging by employing a concave wine bottle that is easy to hold and inscribing the word "wine" in Braille.
Suntory engages actively in Universal Design development as part of efforts to ensure that every customer will find Suntory products and services easily accessible and friendly. The basis for this development is provided by inquiries and requests from customers totaling some 120,000 communications a year. Convinced that responding to these many customer voices is essential to Universal Design development, we are striving to realize a uniquely Suntory friendliness with a touch of delicacy and ingenuity.
Encouraging Sensible Drinking, Another Suntory Responsibility

As an alcoholic beverage manufacturer, Suntory is actively addressing alcohol-related issues. We established the ARP (Alcohol-Related Problems) Council and ARP Office inside the company to head up these efforts in 1991. We engage in educational activities in support of "sensible drinking", including publication of "moderation advertising" calling for moderate drinking and cooperation in campaigns to assure responsible behavior. These are aimed at discouraging down-in-one shooter drinking, drinking while pregnant, underage drinking and driving under the influence of alcohol, for example.
The ARP Office also serves a watchdog function to prevent inappropriate marketing practices and provides internal education for Suntory personnel.
