Suntory participates in various sports activities in line with its appreciation of sports as a key contact point for deepening communication with customers.
Our Sungoliath rugby team has captured the Japanese Championship title three times in recent years, and the Suntory Sunbirds volleyball team set a new V-League record in 2004 by winning its fifth consecutive championship in this prestigious Japanese volleyball league. While both teams compete with a championship title in mind, they also offer schooling to promote and disseminate their respective sports of rugby and volleyball and conduct activities centered on exchange with regional people and fans.
Other sports-related activities include sponsorship of the We Love Kobe-Suntory Ladies' Open Golf Tournament, a popular event with a strong fan base developed through a history dating back to 1990.
