Tomi no Oka (Red)
A pleasant red wine combining a gentle nose of varietal aromas with a fine-grained, mellow palate. Blended from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and other grape varieties carefully grown at Tomi no Oka's own vineyard.
Tomi no Oka (Red) 2006
[Vintage Notes]
The year 2006 brought the latest harvest in 20 years, pushing the process into November. As a result, the late-ripening fruit was strongly acidic in flavor with pronounced varietal fragrances. This pleasant wine has inherited and extended the characteristics of the grapes to develop a gentle mouthfeel and fruity nose.
[Tasting notes]
The use of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes has produced a soft, delicate flavor. This pure red wine suggests violets and red fruit on the nose, and a gentle palate with fine-grained tannins leads to a pleasantly acidic finish.
