Ongoing since 1987, this contemporary music festival known as Tokyo’s traditional summer event features a wide array of genres ranging from chamber music to opera.

During the festival week centered on Suntory Hall, ARK Hills known as the “Town of Music” is enlivened by the sound of music.At the ARK Karajan Place, a myriad of casual events can be enjoyed during the week such as live broadcasts of the concerts at Suntory Hall,workshops for children, and “Music Marche” (a chance to try musical instruments).Concerts are also held in the lobby of nearby museums and other facilities.

In 2019, Christian Thielemann and Andres Orozco-Estrada will be making an appearance. In addition to concerts, a diverse lineup of programs is planned, including performances for students, free open rehearsal, and a master class by a member of Wiener Philharmoniker.
