This exhibit tells the story of whisky in Japan through an extensive assortment of historic items, including the desk regularly used by Shinjiro Torii as he polished his whisky-blending skills; 'Suntory Whisky Shirofuda' bottles, the first authentic whisky ever made in Japan; and contemporary video clips.

We introduce our whisky-making pedigree, including the attention to passion of Yamazaki Distillery, the oldest malt whisky distillery in Japan, and the little-known story of how the single malt whisky "Yamazaki" came to be. We also describe the challenges we hope to take on as we continue innovating Suntory Whisky into the future.
The story of whisky making.
You can understand the basics of the long manufacturing process needed to make whisky via the exhibits and miniature models installed along the corridors.
A wall of several thousand bottles of variety of whiskies will be the highlight of your visit. A large exhibit area with a double height features the pot still and the washback that were used at the distillery for many years, giving you a sense of the living spirit of whisky-making.
Including the Yamazaki Brand, some 30 varieties of whiskies from around the world are available, as well as limited editions and component whiskies unique to Yamazaki distillery.
Sample a range of whiskies, savoring the differences in their flavors, and don't miss this chance to discover the whisky of your choice.

- To ensure your safety, we ask that you wait to visit the tasting counter until your tour is complete.
- We only serve whisky straight with the volume of 15ml per shot.
- Some domestic whiskies could be out of stock.
- We do not stock any soft drinks or snacks in this counter.
- In order to maintain food sanitation, we ask that visitors not bring food or drinks into the distillery.
- Drinking and driving, and drinking before the age of 20 is prohibited by the law.
Drivers of automobiles, motorcycles(including passengers), or bicycles are not able to drink alcohol.
At the Yamazaki Distillery Gift Shop, we offer various products such as special glasses and whiskies from all over the world.
In addition, items made from casks used in maturation for making Suntory whiskies are also lined up.
