Suntory Supports Recovery from the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes

We offer our condolences to the victims of the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes, and express our deepest sympathies to those who have been affected.

To support the rescue and other operations in the disaster-stricken areas, the Suntory Group has decided to contribute one hundred million yen.
The Suntory Group has also provided emergency provisions to municipalities in the disaster-stricken areas centering in Kumamoto Prefecture, including approximately 210,000 bottles of Suntory Tennensui Mineral Water, and will continue to carry out further support in accordance with the circumstances of the disaster.

We sincerely hope for the earliest possible recovery of the disaster-stricken areas.

At present, operations have ceased at the Suntory Kyushu Kumamoto Plant (Kashima, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture), which produces beer and soft drinks. Due to the impact of aftershocks, it is anticipated to take some time before operations resume. However, production is already being stepped up at other plants to ensure a stable supply going forward.
