Booking
Opens at 10 a.m. on May 10

This year’s “Producer Series” features two musicians who have been in the front line of contemporary music Yasuaki Itakura and Norio Sato. They will each present a program made of contemporary master pieces as well as lesser-known yet but noteworthy pieces. “The 39th International Program for Music Composition” will welcome a female composer from Finland, Kaija Saariaho, one of the leading composers today, as the theme composer. We will introduce her commissioned works together with her musical world. As a special program, we will represent the commissioned work from the 1st International Program for Music Composition, “Gémeaux” by Toru Takemitsu. Known as the gateway to a success for the up-and-coming composers and famous for its unique way of public screening, “The 26th AKUTAGAWA Award for Music Composition” will also be held. Please do look forward to this year’s Summer Festival that offers a wide variety of programs.
