Suntory Beverage & Food Limited will launch BOSS Green, a coffee under the BOSS brand that prevents fat absorption and is a food for specified health uses (FOSHU), nationwide on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in Japan.

Low-sugar coffee and black coffee have seen growth in the canned coffee market as of late, and the health needs of canned coffee consumers is growing more and more, as exemplified by the launch of fat-fighting FOSHU products. Under these market circumstances, we will energize the canned coffee market by launching BOSS Green, the BOSS brand's first FOSHU product.

One of the dietary fibers in the coffee beans, mannooligosaccharide, which has the effect of suppressing fat absorption in the small intestine, is blended with the product.BOSS Green prevents the absorption of fat after a meal, has received approval from the Consumer Affairs Agency of Japan as a FOSHU product suitable for people concerned about body fat, and will now go on sale.

Content Features

Although BOSS Green is a FOSHU product, we have blended a fine balance of highly aromatic, lightly roasted beans and rich, deeply roasted beans in order to create a delicious canned coffee. It is a low-sugar canned coffee that provides the enjoyment of both a rich coffee flavor and milky sweetness, and consumers are sure to savor the flavor day in and day out.

Package Features

The package has a green design with a big BOSS logo, making it easily recognizable as a FOSHU coffee from BOSS.

While we have a diverse lineup of FOSHU products such as Suntory black oolong tea, Pepsi Special and Iyemon Tokucha, we aim to further energize the FOSHU market by launching BOSS Green, our first FOSHU product in the coffee category.
