Suntory hall commissions orchestral work to a forefront composer every year and present a world-premiere. Commissioned composers include John Cage, Luigi Nono, Tan Dun, Oliver Knussen, Esa-Pekka Salonen etc. and 35 commissioned works were premiered. In 2012, Toshio Hosokawa, new supervisor of this series, make a selection from the commissioned works in the past and introduces the attractiveness of the compositions again.

MAURIZIO POLLINI -POLLINI PERSPECTIVE 2012

"POLLINI PERSPECTIVE" launched at Lucerne Festival in 2011 to celebrate his 70th birthday. This global "Perspective" project is brought to Paris, Berlin and to Suntory Hall, Tokyo in 2012. It will be further extended to New York and Milan in 2013.

We have suspended the start of the ticket sales for "Pollini Perspectives 2012" due to
Mr. Pollini's health reasons.

After careful consideration, Mr. Pollini has come to the conclusion that he will give performances with revised and programs. He very much looks forward to performing "Pollini Perspectives 2012" in Tokyo.
