SUNTORY FROM FARM Shinshu Fujimi-Machi Koshu Brut 2022 Wins Gold Medal at Decanter World Wine Awards 2026

Tokyo, JAPAN (June 23, 2026) ― Suntory Spirits, a company that manages Suntory Group’s alcoholic beverage business in Japan, is proud to announce that its Japanese wine SUNTORY FROM FARM Shinshu Fujimi-Machi Koshu Brut 2022*1 won a Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2026. In addition, SUNTORY FROM FARM Iwadarehara Merlot 2021*2, SUNTORY FROM FARM Shiojiri Merlot 2023*3, SUNTORY FROM FARM Tomi Koshu 2024*3, and SUNTORY FROM FARM Tomi Red 2023*4 won Silver Medals.

DWWA, established in 2004 by Decanter, a leading UK wine magazine first published in 1975 and now available in more than 100 countries, is one of the world's largest wine competitions and celebrates its 23rd edition this year. Each year, more than 10,000 wines are entered, and the results attract considerable attention from the global beverage industry. The Gold Medal received by SUNTORY FROM FARM Shinshu Fujimi-Machi Koshu Brut 2022 is considered to be a significant recognition of the quality and commitment Suntory has pursued in its winemaking.

Following the Best in Show accolade received in 2024 by SUNTORY FROM FARM Tomi Koshu 2022, this recognition of a sparkling wine made from Koshu grapes grown in Fujimi-Machi, Nagano, is particularly significant. <About SUNTORY FROM FARM Shinshu Fujimi-Machi Koshu Brut 2022>
Made exclusively from Koshu grapes grown in the cool climate of Fujimi-Machi in Shinshu (Suwa District, Nagano Prefecture), located at an altitude of approximately 900 meters at the foot of Mt. Yatsugatake, this dry sparkling wine offers crisp acidity and vibrant fruit flavors that reflect its cool-climate origins.

Koshu is a grape variety native to Japan as defined by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). It is a wine grape that represents Japan, characterized by an elegant aroma reminiscent of Japanese citrus fruits.

In addition to still wines, the company is committed to showcasing the appeal of Koshu through traditional method sparkling wines, enabling more people to discover and enjoy this distinctive Japanese grape variety.
