The Premium Malt’s

Where does the water for The Premium Malt’s come from?
The Premium Malt’s is one of Japan’s leading premium beers. The water used in this product is nurtured deep underground in mountainous areas where Suntory Natural Water Sanctuaries are located.
The Premium Malt’s dedication to water
About 90% of beer is water. Suntory’s beers, including “The Premium Malt’s,” are brewed using high-quality groundwater that has been filtered through natural geological layers and drawn up from deep underground. By using natural water in brewing, the flavor of the added ingredients can be fully brought out.

Natural Water Sanctuary Activities
Suntory has established Natural Water Sanctuaries in the groundwater conservation areas of the four breweries that produce The Premium Malt’s. A variety of maintenance activities are carried out to cultivate forests rich in biodiversity with a strong capacity to recharge groundwater.

Our Natural Water Sanctuaries are forests rich in biodiversity, home to rare raptors such as the Mountain Hawk-Eagle and Eurasian Goshawk, as well as various small birds.

Bird names are listed in accordance with the Check-list of Japanese Birds, 8th Revised Edition.
