Researchers: Chinese Tea Alleviates Atopic Dermatitis
(AD)
The Chinese tea, Tian cha, is effective in curbing the effects of anti-atopic dermatitis (AD), a dry skin condition, according to research conducted by Suntory. Suntory made the announcement at an academic conference held by the Japanese Society of Allergology in Kyushu from Oct 29 to 31. Suntory's research was based on experiments using laboratory mice. Researchers said that mice infected with the dry skin condition had less of an urge to scratch themselves when fed a steady diet of Tian cha. Thus it is believed that the Chinese tea is effective in mitigating the symptoms of AD.
