Natural Water Sanctuaries Across Japan

Creating forests that nurture
high-quality groundwater

Our Natural Water Sanctuary Initiative began in Aso in 2003.

This initiative works to conserve and regenerate forests and biodiversity in the watershed areas of Suntory plants in Japan to nurture high-quality groundwater. It has now expanded to 26 locations in 16 prefectures, covering an area of over 12,000 hectares. (as of August 2024)

Our Natural Water Sanctuaries have mid- to long-term forest management agreements with local governments and neighboring forest owners.
