Suntory Hall Silvester Concert 2023
Symphonie-Orchester der Volksoper Wien
Suntory Hall is pleased to present the popular Silvester Concert 2023 featuring the Symphonie-Orchester der Volksoper Wien (Symphony Orchestra of the Volksoper Vienna=SOVOP) on Sunday December 31, 2023 at 15:00.
For over 30 years, Suntory Hall has celebrated New Year’s Eve and the New Year with the Symphony Orchestra and singers of the celebrated Volksoper Wien, who entertain us with selections of delightful Viennese waltzes and polkas that everyone will be familiar with. The Silvester Concert takes place in the afternoon of New Year’s Eve so that after the performance people will have plenty of time to welcome in the New Year.
The programme includes familiar masterpieces such as Johann Strauss Jr’s operetta Die Fledermaus, a New Year’s Eve favourite, and the Wiener Blut waltz. The concert will be led by conductor Guido Mancusi, who has appeared regularly at Suntory Hall’s Silvester and New Year concerts. As soloists, we are thrilled to welcome back tenor Mehrzad Montazeri, who delighted us at Silvester/New Year Concert in 2022/23, and brilliant coloratura soprano Beate Ritter who makes her first appearance in the Silvester and New York concerts. They will be joined on the stage by the graceful dancers of the Ballet Ensemble SOVOP. The concert will be navigated by broadcaster Keiko Yashio, former presenter of TV Tokyo.
Please enjoy a leisurely afternoon of New Year’s Eve at Suntory Hall.
