Suntory Hall New Year Concert 2026
Symphonie-Orchester der Volksoper Wien
January 1 - 3, 2026
Suntory Hall is pleased to present the highly popular New Year Concert 2026 featuring the Symphonie-Orchester der Volksoper Wien (Symphony Orchestra of the Volksoper Vienna=SOVOP) on January 1 - 3, 2026.
Since 1988, Suntory Hall has celebrated the beginning of another year with the orchestra of the renowned Volksoper Wien, which is particularly acclaimed for its performances of operettas by J. Strauss, Lehar, and Kalman. Together with distinguished singers and dancers, they will entertain us with selections of overtures and arias from popular operettas and familiar Viennese waltzes and polkas.
We are thrilled to welcome Vienna-born soprano Kristiane Kaiser, Kammersängerin of the Volksoper Wien, for the first time, and Slovakian tenor Miroslav Dvorský who makes a return after six years. Conductor Ola Rudner, a well-loved figure at these concerts, will bring out the Viennese flair from the soloists and orchestra. They will be joined on the stage by the graceful dancers of the Ballet Ensemble SOVOP Wien.
There will be a pre-concert performance by five members of the orchestra in the Blue Rose (Small Hall), where there will also be a drinks bar.
We hope you will celebrate New Year at Suntory Hall and enjoy the elegant tunes of Viennese polkas and waltzes.
