Details & BookingMichie Koyama, one of Japan’s most eminent pianists, embarks on a four-recital series “Mirai Eigo” during 2026/27, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Suntory Hall. “Mirai-eigo” means “for all eternity” and she focuses on the timeless masterpieces by four composers she particularly admires—Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, and Bach—pursuing each composer’s pianism with characteristic sincerity.

In 2026, marking Suntory Hall’s 40th anniversary, CMG presents 24 concerts over 16 days in the intimate acoustics of the Blue Rose (Small Hall). Highlights include a complete Beethoven String Quartet Cycle by the world-renowned Quatuor Ébène, alongside projects curated by pianist Yu Kosuge and performances by leading international and Japanese ensembles. Artists from across generations come together to offer an exceptionally rich chamber music experience.

Details & BookingSuntory Hall presents Hall Opera® Tan Dun’s Tea: A Mirror of Soul in a new production by artists from Japan and China. The opera, originally commissioned by Suntory Hall, was premiered in 2002, and has since been performed worldwide. Set in Tang Dynasty China, it is a tragic love story centered on a journey in search of The Book of Tea, a sacred Chinese text on the way of tea. Fusing Eastern philosophy with Western musical language, Tan Dun uses sounds of water, paper, ceramic and stone create a unique sonic world. Conducted by Tan himself, the dazzling work will be performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
