The flowers of the four seasons and tatewaku rising steam designs are among the motifs arranged on the white figured satin ground of this uchikake. The tatewaku design has multiple curved lines rising vertically, signifying steam rising and was originally a motif used on costumes worn by noblemen. The figured satin is woven of silk, and, depending on the light, the woven motifs are visible. That satin and the graceful tatewaku designs present a refined gorgeousness. (Paragon or Puzzle?
