The mouth of this jar opens out slightly and the rim bends outward. The top of the rim is flat. Gently sloping shoulders curve into the comfortable swell of the body to create an elongated shape. Ash is faintly visible on the area from the top of the neck to the shoulders, and on one side of the body, extending from the shoulders to the base, is a large area of natural glaze in a transparent green color in the shape of an upside-down triangle. Clear glaze, also a natural result of the firing, runs down the neck and shoulders in short rivulets. The piece was evenly fired, and the speckling of the reddish-brown surface with grains of feldspar gives this jar a remarkable appearance.
