This jar widens at the shoulder and flares out slightly at the neck, and the foot is shaped to suggest jointed bamboo. On the body are three window-like medallions, each of which contain chrysanthemums, peonies and long-tailed cocks. Filling the spaces between the medallions and also covering the shoulder is a design of flower arabesques. Vessels of this shape and decorated with this type of motif are called "jinko-ko" and were exported to Europe in great numbers during the 17th and 18th centuries. It must have been covered.
